 L'alimentatore 3500/15 è un modulo a mezza altezza e deve essere installato negli slot designati sul lato sinistro del rack. Il rack 3500 può contenere uno o due alimentatori con qualsiasi combinazione di CA e CC. Entrambi gli alimentatori possono alimentare un rack completo.
Quando in un rack sono installati due alimentatori, quello nello slot inferiore funge da alimentatore principale e l'altro nello slot superiore funge da alimentatore di backup. Se installata, la seconda fornitura è il backup di quella primaria. La rimozione o l'inserimento di uno dei moduli di alimentazione non interrompe il funzionamento del rack tanto quanto un secondo alimentatore
è installato.

L'alimentatore 3500/15 accetta un'ampia gamma di tensioni di ingresso e le converte in tensioni accettabili per l'uso da parte di altri moduli 3500. Con il sistema di protezione del macchinario serie 3500 sono disponibili i seguenti alimentatori:
