L'Emerson EPRO MMS6822 funge da traduttore per macchine industriali. Colma il divario tra il sistema di monitoraggio macchina MMS 6000 di Emerson e altri sistemi di controllo. I moduli MMS 6000 raccolgono dati dai macchinari, ma questi dati non sono sempre compatibili con altri sistemi. È qui che entra in gioco l'MMS6822. Raccoglie i dati dai moduli MMS 6000 tramite un bus RS-485 interno e li converte in un formato leggibile da sistemi esterni. Questa conversione utilizza due protocolli: Modbus RTU per la comunicazione interna e Modbus TCP/IP per le connessioni di rete esterne. L'MMS6822 trasmette i dati convertiti tramite Ethernet, consentendo ad altre macchine di monitorare e analizzare le informazioni vitali dal sistema MMS 6000.
