Ein Upgrade-Kit von C200 auf C300 wurde entwickelt, um ein einfaches Hardware-Upgrade ohne zusätzlichen Platzbedarf zu ermöglichen. Das C200-Controller-Gehäuse kann durch einen redundanten C300-Controller ersetzt werden, der modifiziert wurde, um in den Platz eines einzelnen C200/C200E-Gehäuses zu passen. Die Grafiken bleiben gleich. Jeder C200/C200E-Controller kann einzeln migriert werden, sodass das System schrittweise auf C300 umgestellt werden kann. Durch das Upgrade auf C300 kann diese Lösung IO-Module und Feldverkabelung beibehalten, die Grafiken unverändert lassen, die Steuerungsstrategien mit wenig oder keinen Änderungen migrieren und ermöglicht es, das System schrittweise auf C300 umzuwandeln. Das übergeordnete Netzwerk muss auf Fault Tolerant Ethernet aufgerüstet werden. Das Upgrade-Verfahren kann durchgeführt werden, während das System online bleibt.
